Sometimes we are blind to our own leadership qualities because of our own personal baggage. We tend not to notice that we are maturing into individuals that can lead other people.

Sticking with Your Decision
Being a leader means making decisions that may not please everybody but still you must not waiver but forge ahead because it is the right thing to do. One of the things that may deter you when you want to make a final decision is whether your decision is right or wrong. Learning to be decisive and accepting your failings if this happens will help you avoid stressing yourself.
Leading By Example
A leader must never regret his past experiences because these same experiences is the reason why he has evolved into a better leader. Treating others the way that you want to be treated is also applicable when you want to lead them. Showing your followers that you respect them will produce the same respect for you.

You can say that one of the qualities of a leader is that he dares to take risk even when it pushes him beyond his comfort zone. You must assess your capability to take risks. Some people love taking risks but others avoid them like the proverbial plague.

Followers will see that you are humble enough to accept mistakes that you yourself made. People will see through your superficial action when you act like the ever suffering martyr but really seek praises for taking the fall.

Leading does not have to be always sadness and hardships but there may be times when you rejoice because you have achieve success so never forget the people who have faithfully follow you.
Empowering your Followers
There is a sense of pride that you derive from within yourself when you shape future leaders by mentoring and teaching them what you know. One of the qualities of a good leader is that they are not afraid when it is time to step down their role as a leader and let somebody else take their place.
You have done your work as a leader when you can motivate others to follow your example and be a better person if they cannot be a leader like you. People respond better when you praise them for their efforts rather than criticize them.
People will learn to follow your example as a leader when you show them that you know your limitations and that you recognize that you are not perfect. The barrier that separates you from being a mere mortal simply erodes to reveal a leader worth emulating.
